I have lots of active, fresh milk kefir grains to share. If you're in the San Francisco bay area you can come get them from me in Pleasant Hill, otherwise I'm willing to mail them to you. Let me know if you'd also like instructions on what to do with the grains once you get them.
I culture in raw (unpasteurized, un-homogenized) whole cow's milk, but the grains should do fine in any version of dairy milk (cow or goat, pasteurized/homogenized, whole or skim).
I've been told - and have no reason to doubt - that these grains are originally from Dom, through a few people in the Wisconsin area and then to me several years ago.

Kefir grains grow fairly slow, so people run out of them easily, and will not respond to you unless they have extra grains to share. Second thing, live Kefir grains are extremely resistant, so shipping them through mail is fine. Kefir grains that I shipped during coldest days of winter, or hottest days of summer still live and are shared by many members of our Kefir community. Mind you, I wasn't even shipping dried ones, but live, real Kefir grains. Thanks, Adnan.
