Through a combination of in-house systems development and working with leading technology partners, the division delivers world-class solutions in order to realize business opportunities. World Markets Technology is a global and business-aligned team whose purpose is to contribute to enhanced business performance through a consistent set of advisory and sales and trading application services. A dedicated Projects group is responsible for the delivery of all projects technology solutions used for advancing our overarching World Markets strategic objectives. Key Accountabilities / Activities: Purpose of Role: The MIS Services group whose key mandate is to provide Management Reporting and Business Intelligence Services to the DCM and Equity lines of business requires a Senior Developer to develop new data warehouse maintenance applications and support the existing java based Enterprise Reporting Platform in the MIS space. Responsibilities: The individual will: *Develop and support the various Java and Powerbuilder applications within the MIS space. *Design, modifies, develops, writes and implements software programming applications. *Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis. *Provides technical support to project team members. *Provide day to day application support, fixing problems, while also designing, developing, testing and implementing maintenance enhancements *Primary resource person in converting business requirements and definition to system programming specifications for applicable projects. *Full life cycle development. *Responsible for the development and enhancement of the DCM & Equity Management Reporting Portals *Migration of various Powerbuilder applications to the java platform Requirements: *Minimum 8 years experience in application architecture, design , development and systems integration *Minimum of 3-5 years experience designing and implementing J2EE solutions *Java development using EJB, JSP, JDBC, JNI, XML, RMI, Servlets *Experience designing multi-tier systems and web applications using WebLogic. *Object-oriented and Unified Modeling Language (UML) knowledge and experience *Experience in Powerbuilder v6.5 *Strong working knowledge of Sybase, Oracle *Strong SQL, UNIX skills (Korn/Shell scripting) *Experience in cleaning up and optimizing database schema *Highly proficient in data modeling and data warehousing skills *Good Understanding of Business Intelligence concepts *Exposure to business intelligence tools such as Cognos *Good interpersonal and communication skills. *Good Decision-making and problem solving skills. *Expert knowledge of Erwin Data Modeler an asset *Experience in defining data conversion strategies an asset *Experience with ETL Tools - Informatica PowerMart/PowerCentre an asset Attributes: *Results Orientation *Initiative *Forward & Strategic Thinking *Relationship Building *Communication *Thorough Special conditions: CIBC is an equal opportunity employer.
